Dont do weddings as a rule but I always film in interlace as my camera does.
Progressive has some peculiar advantages, as indeed does interlace, but shooting in progressive is not for the faint hearted or inexpiriened.
Progressive video gives better results for slo mo, speed up, masking, keying, track motion tricks as you dont need to deal with lacing artifacts.
The flip side is that you have to be careful with pans and lively subjects as a 25p judder can be an issue. Much less of an issue with interlace as you get 50 fields per sec.
For display on a tv off a dvd interlace will give best results - but we are talking a tiny difference assuming both formats are used within thier capabilities.
Mooks think it will make thier videos better cos it ' looks like film ' - it doesnt - it looks like progressive video....
Roll on 50p - cameras still insanely expensive.
