Hi, I've been approaced by a client to shoot an informational interview. They were wondering about whether the shoot would need to be done in a studio for lighting and audio quality reasons. I tend to think it's not necessary (lots of interviews with actors/celebraties happen in hotel rooms without issue). What are your thoughts?

If for whatever reason their premises is unsuitable, would it be considered professional from the clients point of view, if I just chose to shoot the interview in another office (say, a friends office which has nice wood panelling and no traffic noise). I don't think I can afford to rent a studio!

A studio is a room with a camera in, an operator, a subject and a few bits and pieces.

The result of any filming enterprise depends primarily on the skill and professional decisions made by the director.

What you call that room is largely irrelevant. My upstairs big bedroom is my studio - a green screen wall, other walls black or dark coloured.

Buying a studio space will not make the video any better than you are.

I'm seeking info on green screen setup - I need a quick and cheap solution. I have a small office with a blank wall, but it's rented so I can't paint the wall green.

- If I buy fabric to tack to the wall, is ANY shade of green OK?

Sorry for such a dumb question, but time is short and your group looks like the place for me to learn a lot in a hurry. I tried to search the forums on "green screen" but didn't see what I need to know.

As fo a screen - mine is 12tf sq with a metal hoop that sort of hols it up - came from bolivia of all places £70.

Goggle about - and in the meantime I will see if i can find same link or similar.
