Get a Peli case!

Manufacturer of watertight protective cases and submersible, ATEX certified flashlights

Not affiliated. I just have a #1600 case of theirs for my Sony HDR-FX1E and it's great.

wow i like the peli cases - very rugged!

i bought just a simple jessops branded case for our XM2's they were £60

this is it -> Jessops.com - Jessops Cam Case 70 - Jessops.com

not in the same league as the peli but do the job and have a foam insert.

** make sure it will fit your camera!!! **

One thing to note with Peli cases though so be careful not to fall afoul of it.

They do not always come with foam as standard. Depending on the vendor it may prove to be an extra item you need to buy.

Also, when I was up at the videoforums at Earl's court I saw some with pre-fabricated foam beds for specific cameras. Might be worth a though.

As to toughness. Mine's well hard! It's pulled a knife on me twice now

That Peli looks bomb-proof!

Hmmm...I have to think of a better storage solution for my own new arrival. At the moment its a cardboard box inside a holdall with about 20m of bubblewrap. Well-protected as far as knocks and bumps are concerned, but not the sexiest solution!

I was thinking of something more backpack shaped.....

And waterproof too!. I saw a great photo once of a couple of guys in a canoe pulling a couple of Peli cases along the river behind them (in the water).

What's more. They make good movie props. They must do as you see them used in movies all the time. Usually carrying high tech stuff.
