Default Need new SONY infolithium NP FP for camcorder (battery)

Can anyone recommend a good dealer?

There are a lot of 3rd party batteries around. Should I be wary of buying them?

I had a 3rd party battery once. fine for a couple of months, then something wore down on it, and it wouldn't clip in into place, or 'pop' out of the batery mount. I then replaced it with a real one... I personally probably won't buy a 3rd party batt. again.

Well, maybe there's 3rd part and there's 3rd party batteries around then.

Other than the one-hour battery that came with it I have only ever used 3rd party batteris on my Sony FX1. both bought and recommended by a reputable dealer. I've never had a moments problem with any of them.

edit: And as your original question was for recommendation then. I got them here. HDRFX7E - HVR-V1E - SONY HVRZ1E - SONY DSRPD170P - SONY PDWF330L who I know as "H Preston". I've had no issues with them - dealer or product.

Do third party batteries retain the time remaining/Infolithium feature that the Sony branded ones have? Just curious to know....
