If that was a composite, it was extremely well done. If that was "real", well done for having the camera rolling at the right time!

You've got to admit the summer's been a right scorcher so far though...

Default Wow

I'd love to have seen a fly-on-the-wall camera in your neighbours front room as they sat watching telly. Must have blown all their electrics.

Nice capture

Neil

The house that was hit belongs to an old lady who lives alone and fortunately she still unplugs her TV when not watching it which was lucky, because the lightning travalled down the tv cable and blew the aerial socket and 2 power sockets out of the wall, leaving the plastic face plates smashed and spread around the room. I found her at a neighbours house and she is fine.
There was another strike which stopped the camera dead, and even though it did switch back on it now will not react to device control at all. Everybody in the area has lost all kinds of electrical devices TVs, dvd, PC, etc. I have surge protection on everything and only lost a LAN switch and my daughters PC.

WOW, OMG ! I hate you ! I just love storms and i would just love to have seen /shot that... bloody fantastic !

You even captured the beads, really clearly and rarely seen that well.

TOP.

I would love to have a copy of the original raw uncompressed footage of just the big strike, any chance ?

I reckon you could have had a still from that syndicated in national newspapers. Did you try any Newsdesk numbers? There aren’t that many photos of actual strikes. I've seen a few, but this is a stunner.
