| | Birthday, Bubbles and Glidecam. I don't usually do this, but I was asked to bring my camera along with the kids. So instantly thought glidecam practice and said yes. www.kidspc.bits-uk.com/videos/glide_party.wmv With crap effect as dicussed below www.kidspc.bits-uk.com/feltham-party-vid.htm Original
and after an hour of bending down to kid height; well next time I shall think twice.
Cheers.

| | Great fun, what a group of natural-born posers!
I feel more inclined to get one of these things. They are becoming a must-have. How wide is the lens? And were you using some kind of filter? The sky had some odd-looking fringing, a whitish blur where it meets the horizon. |

| | The conversion lens is a Raynox HD .66, and because of the bright light and deep shadows I used 2 ND and 1 polarising filter on the cam, which meant I could really open her up and get into the shadows, and then adjusting the polariser to keep as much detail as poss in the bright areas, this meant I got a good blue sky, accept when facing the sun of course.
Anyway after all that, I decided to add a slight glow/dream effect which actually looks not to bad at dv quality but totally crap at 464kbps WMV.
Might swap it back to the original
The first excuse for an editor "I didn't have the right footage" well I certainly had the footage and still managed to balls it up. LOL.
Mike.

| | Interesting, thanks. I’m familiar with filtration for stills photography, but it’s a trickier game with video, and I’m not used to it. Strong sunlight is annoying for sure, and combining filters adds a lot of glassware to the lens front. The colours are very strong, and the contrast is biting. Shame the glow effect is lost in compression.
Come to think of it, 'natural born posers' wouldn't be a bad title for this vid! |

| | Big, big difference. I watched it a few times over, so much better it’s almost a new piece. I’m guessing you’ve lowered the contrast a tad, then maybe added the glow effect?
It’s great, the parents must love it! |
