Default A couple of Ski Videos for Comment

I am a member of a middle-aged ski group that migrates to Tahoe each February for a couple of days of Skiing, Gambling, and general Mayhem. The last couple of years, I took my Handicam along and shot some footage. No plot to start with, just assembly of various footage.

The first link is for the 2005 trip, with the action shots taken with the handicam completely handheld.

The second link did most of the action shots using a Viosport helmet camera with stills from a Pentax S4 and some with the same PC101 Handicam. The Viosport was plugged into the PC101 for recording.

So far all editing done with MovieMaker 2 and BT Titler.

Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

PS - I know the second one is especially long (10+ minutes) but it is targeted on the ski group as a documentary of the whole ski trip.

yes I was skiing for most of the action shots (at least those where the camera is moving!)

The 2005 version was done with the camera in my hand, sort of hanging down and aiming as best I could without killing myself.

The 2006 version was done using a viosport helmet camera attached to my ski helmet so it tracks exactly what my head movement is. Hard to get used to doing sports and trying to hold your head as still as possible. It does give you a pretty stable mounting, cuz your neck is an amazing shock absorber, though the helmet does add a little bit as it still has some movement on your head.

The 2006 one was smoother than the 2005 one.
