Let me be the first to say then, that I really enjoyed that video, I used to be a skater *not brilliant I add* so watching that was very interesting, as I can see what talent is out there!
This is awesome, I dont come on the Forum for a couple of days, and I come back in to a full blown arguement *gets the pop corn out* heh.
Na, but all seriousness, I liked the video, and was impressed with that bloke doing a 360 flip off the set of stairs, hard stuff to do.
Look forward to seeing more of the work.

Heh, well I have noticed some people on this forum seem to do nothing else but critise other peoples work, without showing any constructive critism e.g. saying the bad things about it, what should be done to alter it, without saying what they liked about it. I should post some of my videos on here, but I really don't know the best way to compress the footage so it don't look a bit rubbish, ah well, when I can be bothered i'll show you lot some of mine, so I can be have a review on it, hehe :P

Yah that totally makes alot of sense Hammy. I don't like to say bad stuff about work but I just like to be honest. I take other peoples opinion but when they say stuff just cause you back talked their work makes me a little un easy. Enough said though. Theres a really like shitty editing program but perfect for making different file sizes. Its called Arcsoft Showbiz. Most others like premiere can give you all different kinds of things to compress your video. Hope to see your work.

I have premiere, but im going off it, as at college we use Final Cut Pro....which is just godly! I have a few visual effects test which I have made, consisting of muzzle flashes on gun, lightening, explosions etc which I could post, when I find some time, but i'll def put something up soon. Perhaps when I finish my Single Camera Drama at college, I can link you guys to it, as they will post the final product online, which is ace! mine will be ace, haha, i doubt it, lol

Well, what can I say.
Wow I really liked that bit throwing the telly, how rebellious, golly the grown ups must have been cross.... crikey !
And that bit breaking the sign, living on the edge guys !
I also especially enjoyed all those tricks where you fall off the end, and jeepers I think I heard a few rude words too. WOW.
Poor choice of music, camera too far away from (ahem) the action. Friends too skinny with very poor hair, tricks lame, no story or background, no human interest (sic).
Go meet some girls, stop jerking eachother off over this onanistic piece of ego-dross and learn about film making befor making judgements about films you clearly dont understand.
Change your attitude and you might recieve some helpfull comments to your outstanding work, lets face it you can only benefit.

Strong words from an enthusiastic and talented editor there, guys. It’s up to you whether you just resent criticism, or accept that you have much to learn from many different sources.
Video is a far more complex discipline than just filming skateboarding, and none of us can claim mastery of it all. But we all have our specialities.
Seems to me you have some good technique, but need to widen out subject-wise.

I've just watched it and read all the comments...
I think a lot of people pre-judge skateboarding videos, if it's not your thing then it's hard to appreciate, I used to be a skateboarder too, still do it occasionally, I actually go out of my way to watch skateboard videos so I'm the target audience for this.
I don't think the music suits the action, as I think the guru said, you need very good (or different) footage to pull off that kind of music, i.e. the start of "Yeah Right", (very close-up without fish-eye),
There's a few of shots that are really nice, like the bumpy drop-in and that nolly-flip, that would look good slowed down, but a lot of it is filler, you need a few more filming sessions for a whole intro of good stuff.
The smashing stuff has all been done to death, everyone is no longer shocked or impressed by it (goes for poo aswell IMO), you need to do something different there.
The titles were good, legible and a bit different but not OTT, with the people in shot, that worked well.
I think some good lines would fit in better with this slow stlyle intro, If I were doing it I'd slow-mo the very best shots, film some more good single tricks, then film a couple of long lines of each rider, that way it'll fit the music more, and you'll have more fun filming them anyway, and lines are far more watchable than trick after trick.
You can get cheap fish-eyes, I've got a raynox 0.3x clip-on (£27 - $50 ish), but you will get plenty of boards in the face when filming, you have to be very close to get good stuff.

I am sure onamoped will be made to feel more welcome if he drops some this ridiculous yank / skater 'attitude'. This site is for people enthusiastic about filmaking first and thier own egos second.
My rant above is a tongue in cheek of what onamoped is likely to get if he persists in his abrasive and ill informed style. I am a terrible talk board twat but I have tried to moderate my enthusiam for all things didactic.
