Duuuuude, that's picky! In his defence, filming kids and animals is bloody hard with a camera, let alone one proped on top of a piece of metal held by your forearm. My niece and nephew like to change direction at the slightest whim (not easy to track when you're crouched down to get their eye view). I'm afraid it's often a case of working with what you've got!
I had some beautiful long tracking shots from the weekend, but alas a lot were too long to cut to music I'd chosen and I left them out the video. The reason they were so smooth? My nephew was holding hands with my brother in law! Some were also marred by the wind too... the slightest breeze can send the glidecam off balance...

And in typical fashion after my original post in this thread I forgot all about it and have only just downloaded the clip.
Well, all I can say is either you're a natural or you've put in more hours than I have. I was very impressed. Only once or twice was I able to 'feel' your footsteps but then, given the nature of the where you posted the clip (i.ew. on a video edittign forum), that's what we're looking for eh? Your shadow does catch the eye a bit but that's forgivable.
I guess I've got to start practicing now then and post something eh? And just because I could afford it from last year's bonus I got the Smooth Shooter as well as the Glidecam 2000. So, as soon as I get a sunny day (in the UK? yeah right!) I'll dig the beats out and do something - promise.

Ah, it'll come out in the Director's cut no doubt. It's for the reveal of what's off the left had side of the screen. Some monster or alien craft disguised as an ice cream cart no doubt.

You are right of course, but at the time I was just happy to get some reasonable results. Here is some more footage, this time the framing was the main object rather than smoothness, with a bit more practice maybe I will be able to get both.
Nothing to exciting just practice. http://www.kidspc.bits-uk.com/videos...lide_stuff.wmv www.kidspc.bits-uk.com/videos/nail_woman.wmv

hi, miwel
I went to your website and check out all of your videos. I'm really impressed.
I have a question: the colors in your videos are so vivid that your videos are almost film like! how do you achieve that? (aside from using a 3 CCD camera.) Do you use any kind of filter, post color correction?
Please shed some light on this.

Can't wait to see how you get on, maybe post a photo of it and some clips.

Thank you for your comments, I do use colour correction during the editing process, what gets adjusted depends very much on the footage, but mostly I adjust the saturation to bring up all the colours and then adjust the Blue channel just slightly towards the yellow, which helps to give better skin tones and and less harsh whites.
3ccd cameras will give better quality pictures, but in good light with auto setting switched off and with white balance and shutter speed set to match the the situation, single ccd cameras will also perform very well.
Mike.
