Default Action Sequences with Sound Design

I created these two sequences for uni, mainly as a sound design project...

Light Sabre Dual:

...any feedback would be very helpful for my report.

Hey

Nice.

The ambient sounds from the 'street' on the first video appeared a tad too quiet, as did the steps and the rustling of the clothes. I would also have expected more of an echo and bassy sounds given the surrounds too. If I'm right, theres also no reaction to the punches in terms of audio, and the punches themselves could have done with being a bit 'meatier'. But then what do I know?

The second video I could only get to play for a few seconds.

There was too little sound for my liking. If you're trying to "foley" a scene then you need everything: footsteps, clothing noise, background sounds etc. etc. (as Marc said) and these weren't there. The idea is that if you close your eyes, you can still imagine the scene.

I'm afraid the fight sounds didn't quite do it for me either, lacking an element of "realism". This doesn't mean that the sounds weren't real (for all I know you recorded an actual fight) just that they didn't come across as realistic.

Good luck in future projects, it's not a field I fancy working in... Far too difficult!

Zaskar's spoof version was, as usual, hillarious.

As guru says, slow fiddly stuff. I could only manage a min or so.

Sorry Mark W. I don't really like your rendition of that. Sounds didn't go with it. What were those random R2D2 noises for? Anyways the original is way better.

Welcome to Mark's sense of humour . He certainly wasn't trying to improve, just ease his boredom!
