| | I liked the dissappearrance stuff on the second shot where u cut em out to the beat.
didnt like the black frames cut to the beat - jus looked a lil wrong.
You could try using alot of blurs for trasitions as this would back up the subject matter.
Pity the footage is so poor but well done - great job mate! |

| | How much you get paid (envy)?
The footage was a bit pants for sure, looked like the white balance was wrong on some of the outside shots and the shots of the girl (wearing too much make up imho) were very flat, needed some lighting.
As Irish said some blurry fades might have worked and the video looks like she is remembering stuff from the past - for those shots changing the look of the footage with a colour wash, or b/w or motion blurr can enhance the 'remembering past times' effect.
Editing other peoples stuff can be a real challenge and the customer paid up so that's the main thing eh ?

| | Well your doing better than me... 3 years doing this and I have made £50, but I am a sucker for 'pro bono' work.

| | Excellent start mate.
I really agree with Irishmark that there could have been a bit more cut-to-the-beat stuff like the second shot. You mentioned doing it with the "swings" footage, try it. Like Irish, I too found the black-cuts didn't work too well.
I realise that you're working with material you'd been given but...
The quality of some shots was very poor, technically I mean. A bit of lighting would have helped a lot. Also (I'm really nit-picking here) I personally found it a bit boring in the middle, I think having the boyfriend miming the rap with a bit of attitude would have spiced it up a bit. (I know you didn't shoot the footage, I'm just saying what I would have liked to see)
Nevertheless... Keep going sixthace, it was a nice promo. |
