| |  How to vox pop - wk in progress
I was updating my sites fp and making a feature of my vox pops. I thought I would have a go at a 'how to' type vid to guide people who fancy having a go.
Editing practice for me partly as I have never tried to do anything instructional.

Very good Mark.
What I would like to see in an instructional vid would be, instead of on screen written instructions, someone telling us what to do and pointing out good and bad techniques.
All together a nice production and use of video and text together. |

Yes, I thought that too, it's a bit sparse without a voice over. I tried it without as doing a voiceover well is probably quite hard. I have some decent mikes so I will try adding some vo and see jhow it works.

Good tips (and I say that from a reporter's point of view). Keep ellaborating on that, it will be a good instructional video.
Now about the video... it ended kind of abruptly (but this is a work in progress so it's undestandable). The text appeared to me as too fast. Maybe you can leave it longer on screen. And careful about the spelling, too. I'm not a native English speaker but I can distinguish the correct form between "experience" and "expirience". |

What about ditching the text altogether, then in between clips have someone telling us about the next step and techniques before cutting to the clip?
So in effect you have a presenter to the video who can illustrate things clearly and carry it through. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about speelings.
Just a thought but might be a bit tricky as I don't know your resources.  |

Yes, I was just thinknig of doing it that way. I can do a big green screen so I think that is how I will do it.

I got mine for about 100 quid, it is nearly self supporting with a metal edge and is 8 foot sq with another 8 ft sq bit on the floor. I cant find the supplier but i got the recipt somewhere, can post it if u like.
