Default First narration

Hi all,

Been sick for the last week, so should have finished this last weekend. Its the first time I've narrated....and felt a bit of a plonker doing it too. It does seem to fill-out the movie tho'.... speshally with music background too.

Took Irishmarks advice to paragliding-tdrtw and put a "stocking over a coathanger" between me and the mic. Had to drop the master volume b4 the encoding as the narration broke up quite a bit. Probably too low tho' cos the music seems much louder.

Also....as a trial....I got meself a copy of morpheus. Like it alot in Irishmarks birthday vid.....so tired it out in one transition.

The multi screen stuff seems a bit short but this is still me getting used to fitting stuff into 5 mins(instead of 20 min vids).

Anyway wot dya think.....and no dodgy comments bout the accent

Here it is 19 Mb and 5 mins long

Default PS for tdrtw and paragliding

Also.....TDRTW and Paragliding, I see that youre both familiar with bullet cams. I've started a thread in the "camcorders and shooting forum" asking
for advice. Any tips on good bullet cams for the next project??

Absolutely first class. The underwater footage is just amazing. The cuttlefish sequence was stunning.

Your Narration was excellent too, very clear, well spoken and informative and the accent wasn't dodgy at all.
I would have to agree about the music overpowering the narration at times though. First half was fine, but you could do with bringing it down a notch for the second half of the video. But you could still hear what you were saying though

The morph transition worked well too.

Overall I loved it, it kept me interested all they way through.

If I saw this on TV I wouldn't think it out of place.

Interesting, informative and professionally done.

First class!

First Class. Watched all the way through. Agree with the comments re: the audio levels and I'm not a fan of edge treatment in PIP, but that's just my personal preference.

Please, we want more narrated clips from you guys! I'm impressed.

thanks for the comments so far guys....I really expected a slating.

Marc - I wasnt sure about using PIP...but wanted to show more species of fish in less shots. The feather edging was a last min idea and it seems more noticable after encoding. The straight edge PIPs seemed very harsh...maybe I'll find a happy medium if I use it again.

What do folks think of the morphing transition????? Used it so that Jill (my girlfriend) could get ready to dive more quickly

WOW, that was utterly brilliant. Got to agree with the Para man in that it wouldn't look out of place on television if it was a documentary. I really liked the pacing and the colours were magnificent.

You're a lucky man. I get on a packed tube to get to work in the morning and you get on a boat to do this. Fair play to you.

There are not many videos that I have watched twice (or three times) on this forum.

This is one of them.

Very very impressed! It holds my attention throughout. The narration ties it together brilliantly. It is obvious that this is a very well thought out piece - not just slapped together. Camera work is smooth. The story follows a logical sequence. Music fits beautifully.

One of the best I have seen here

Very very well done. Keep them coming. Definately captured the day and the moments. Loved the music background choice.
