0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | My comp entry - "The Day I Saw RED"
My RED competition entry is now available for viewing if anyone is interested.
It's called " The Day I Saw Red". It's about 28MB and is a wmv file.
Find it at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan_mi..._I_Saw_Red.wmv
It was basically shot and edited in a single day. The exceptions to that are that I took a couple of days to find a music soundtrack I liked so that went on a few days later. Also, I had the story inmind for a little while and knew I needed the dream sequence. The 'dreamy' background was generated usingParticle Illusion 3 and was played with and exported over a few weeks.
All footage was shot and edited in full 1080i. I don't have a full 1080 export as yet but only because I've not felt the need to wait six hours (probably) for the wmv9 codec to do it's work. If anyone's truly interested though, I can get off my butt and do one.
Anyway, it was all done for fun so critique at will.
Alan

The music overpowered the dialogue a bit but otherwise it was great.

Actually this is much easier than you might think. Shoot scene with green car. Apply a colour replace effect over it. You now have the same clip with both green and red cars. Apply an organic wipe transition between them. I had to edit the organic wipe mask I used though so that it appeared to start under the hands.

I like the way you flinched at the sight of the first red car! Short, sweet and neat. After watching a couple of times, it’s a really funny little piece! For some reason, I still kept expecting McGill to ‘come through’ at any moment.

Very well done Alan. Even though you say it was done in one day you could tell allot of thought went into your script. Great camera work and transitioning. Loved the car affect as well.
