Liked that. Very good quality feel to it. Try as I might I don't seem to get that "look" to anything I do. Is it in the encoding Alan? All in all very professionally done. Must have taken years of drama training to get that bit just right as you ran up the stairs as well
I thought you told a great wee story in just over 3 minutes and it fitted the brief just right.

You can’t escape the role, except maybe by carrying on with these ‘ordinary dad’ episodes!
So you're within a whisker of being stereotyped. Shame really, so early on in your acting career, but it happens – I mean, look at Schwarzenegger….

wow...i *really* like the quality of the picture. can i ask - what was it shot with? was it with a really expensive camera, or did you get that "movie" look by your video editing software? cuz that's what i'd be looking to get with my stuf (as soon as i wind up getting Premiere Pro from ebay).
thanks! great stuff.

As people asked. Possibly just out of politeness but, heck, I'm going to answer anyways....
My movie was shot on a Sony HDR-FX1e at full 1440x1080i resolution using the movie look preset (PP4) so it would have come out at 25fps.
Sitting on top of the camera was a Sennheiser ME66/K6 combo connected to the camera via beechtek DX4 (I think) SLR-jack plug adaptor. All sitting on a Manfrotto 503/525 tripod.
Editting was done in Premeire Pro 1.51 using the Cineform Aspect HD plugin. This offers s/w only realtime editting for HDV. Absolutely great product. Who needs that Matrox RT.X100 any more?????
Years of drama training? Nice one! That bad was it?

Hi Alan.
Brilliant. Your acting was so good! Hammy yes, but it fitted perfectly. The double take at the red car was so well timed too. Brilliant stuff. Won't go on too much about the colour change, it was excellent too of course.
Only one question.....why were you in bed at quarter past five?

now is the quality a result of the camera you were using, or due to editing with that Cineform Aspect HD plugin? after spending money to build my new rig i doubt i can splurge on a $3K camera.

The camera, an eye for a good shot, attention to set up, a script, time spent editing, patience during encoding and a bloody good theme for a competition.
Seriously, the camera does give a tremendous advantage, but with patience and experience you can get great looks from a $1k cam.
