Default Action Ultralight Flying Video

I use a dual camera system - one on the wing, and one on the helmet routed through a switch box and into a TRV950.

Format is wmv, 6.5 minutes, 24 meg.

Curious to know what non pilots think of it (as 90% of the people that see this are other pilots).

Cheers,

Damien

It's the projected 35 minute wait to get it from Megaupload that put me off. Always seems to be the same from them. Very slow download is what they should be called.

Sorry, couldn't tie up my connection for that long.

Shame as I was looking forward to it. Maybe try again tomorrow.

I persevered and finally watched it.

Very interesting to see the stuff from the pilots perspective. Interesting and informative, well paced and enjoyable.

My only suggestion would be to maybe position a different angle from the wing cam at each stop. Looking back, straight down and outward would have given some more variety to the shots.

Overall though, pretty cool way to spend a weekend!

Thanks for sharing.

I use those bullet cameras, weight about 21 grams. I have 2 of them.

Extra Angles don't come cheap as I would need to have a few more cams. Mounting them is a lot of work, so I could do multiple days flying and edit it into one. I do want to make a more universal mount for the second cam so I can move it around in flight. The wing cam is the bread and butter but too much and you can get sick of it. Plus, my green helmet doesn't look cool after a while!

Slow to download? If your on cable I'm guessing its megaupload. I put the video on there as I was scared of getting a gazillion downloads from my website (I get 10 Gig a day transfer).

So I guess you can try here otherwise:

I live in the US and bandwidth is cheap cheap cheap!

So I don't think twice about posting a 30 meg file.

Cheers,

Damien

No, I meant when you stop for a pit stop, just realign the wing cam and then back edit the new footage in. The ground all kinda lokks the same so I dont't think anyone except a flyer would notice...
