BROKEN2005
Default MOVIE TRAILER: $8000 ACTION SHORT FILM (100 VFX SHOTS)

Hey Everyone,

We just finished shooting an action/thriller short film called BROKEN. Shot on the DVX 100a and did all the over 100 VFX in Final Cut Pro & Apple's SHAKE.

Click here to check out the trailer: http://www.whatisbroken.com/broken_trailer_enter.html

Also, check out our web docs w/ VFX Breakdowns: http://whatisbroken.com/webdocs.html

I really want to know what you guys think. Thanks for taking a look.

Alex

It’s the super-cool trailer look – gritty, menacing, and with beautiful presentation (that lighting is so skilful), but quite honestly, I think you’ve done the scene-jumps just a little too fast. There’s hardly a split second to grasp anything about what the story might be about. A fair bit overcooked, I think.

A damn fine piece of work I think. Excellent lighting too! As for Tone33's comments, I kind of agree, but at the same time I don't think you lose anything going at that speed. It gets the scaryness over, and I guess that what counts.

Nice sound work too by the way. Very well done in that department.

For 8000 bucks, I will be supporting you I will buy a copy tomorrow.
Looks like a film with some actual thought put into it.

I hope to have my trailer up in the next week or so. Waiting for my sound guy to finish. I'm working on a 1000 dollar budget though.

Everything is very impressive in it beside the enormous muzzle flash.
