Thread: Instructions to post videos

Hi,

We are a small company & we finally got our first video created. We thought we had someone who would upload the video to several different sites, but he was too difficult to deal with.

So, we'll have to hire someone who doesn't know what they are doing & teach them.

Can you please tell me the ins & outs of uploading a video.

So far I know you need:

1. Title
2. Kws
3. Description
4. URL
5. Category - this is a hard one if we don't know the category options, as I assume they are different for each video hosting portal?

He said it has to be under 10 MB. Since sizes are always Greek to me, I didn't know if ours was under or over 10 MB. I asked him, but he refused to answer the question. Why does it have to be under 10 MB & pls. tell me if this falls into the criteria needed for most video sites:

1. Vimeo - 17, 357 KB
2. Youtube - 21, 826 KB

Also, why did the video creator give me 2 versions? Which one is the one usually uploaded? I think one is HD. Does that matter?

Also one last question...

I've read that some people are offering to put your video on multiple Youtube accts. Why in the world would we want our video uploaded to different accts.? I don't understand the purpose.

17 mb (17,357) and 21mb (21,826) is pretty small, this guy telling you that the limit is 10 mb is pure crap. I just uploaded an HD video that was 1gb (1,000,000 kb) to youtube. all you need to do is make an account, then upload it, it will make a url for you automaticly, then pick your catagory, ie education, sports etc.. then pick you tags, ie a car video could be taged with car, road, race, ford, chevy, just pick something that relates to the video so the search engines can crawl for it when someone dose a search..

Does it take longer to upload, is that maybe why he said that?

it depends on your internet speed, but yes bigger files take longer to upload
