| | Superb picture quality isn't it!
Oddy enough I can see that you have been influenced by Gwennie's comp entry. Quite a haunting look and feel about the movie I thought.
I am thinking about getting a new cam in the new year. Unfortunately I can't afford an XL2, and I am beginning to think Millsy was only kidding about the XL2 for getting his conundrum right. Darn I shall just opt for the Canon XM2 instead.

| | Quality is excellent isn't it?
Is that footage all automatic? I was hoping that some of the close shots would re-focus to the background so I wonder if you just used auto focus there.
re the shed window shot. How often do you set up your little ball-pen then Marc?
Well, I was impressed but the big question is were you impressed Marc? You're the one who's bought the thing.

| | I wouldn't have spent £3.5k on a camcorder if I wasn't going to do a spot of event videography on the side. I'm impressed with the quality, but IMHO, it's not £2k better (and therefore 1.5x better) than my XM2; however, having top of the range equipment is a selling point, as is having top notch video quality.
And again, if I could have waited another six months, I would have opted for HDV. Unfortunately I needed a second camcorder NOW, so I invested in SD. Perhaps in a year's time (providing I am still enjoying event videography), I will upgrade to 2 x HDV camcorders.
The autofocus would have changed given enough time - which I guess is the big advantage of a manual focus ring |

| Budget is maximum of £1,500. I always thought that the movies you posted were of excellent quality. Were the wedding videos shot on your XM2?
I take it that you are quite impressed with the XM2? You're not selling it by any chance?

| | Ahh, but does it have those great digital effects, where at the touch of a button, you can have it look all posterised and pixellated? |

| Why, why, why, why oh why did someone in the R&D department think that would be a 'kool' idea? In seriousness, it does have a button to add film grain. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
