Default DRRRR!!! Call Me Stupid But.....

I'm new to putting video on the web and want to know how you do it. :( I'm also having trouble making it small enough. My vid is 8mins and I made one with Real Video but its 50MB and its still not perfect. What setting should i use?? Oh by the way I am using Studio 9. I used the "streaming" option is that right??? not the "sharing"?? Maybe Im doing ALL wrong

Any Tips would be greatfully recieved

Cheers

DRRRR!!!

Try rendering to .wmv, about 356kbs. That should be good for showing your stuff on the internet. File size should be around 20 megs for an 8 minute clip.

what resolution are you making it?

someone with a half-meg connection, pretty much the slowest broadband connection you can get, can download at, well, 512kbitps. Take off 20% for overheads and everything, and you're left with about 400kbps.

make a 320 * 240 video at 400kbps (including audio) and see how it turns out.

don't you have webspace via your ISP?

there are stacks of places you can sign up for free webspace as well.
