Default Movie View or something?

So i've been making movies w/ friends for a while now, and by movies i mean little skit like things, but in the future i wud want to make a "serious" movie and i thought it would look better with those black bars on the top and bottom like in real movies. the problem is, idk how to or wut they are called. hehe i've been making and edititing movies for a few years now. can someone help me out!!! :lol:

Just crop the top and bottom and don't resize. Or crop, resize and change the pixel aspect ratio.

Or you could just provide everyone with a pair of glasses which have had their tops and bottoms taped up, to give that true widescreen feel without the hassle of shooting, coverting or editing in that format.
