I agree! back when youtube first started the widescreen format with HD on the side the clips just played in a higher quality. I experimented a bit trying to get the best setting in an AVC mpeg4 on Vegas pro 8. I was still just shooting everything in SD at the time too..lol Then they (youtube) change it on me (after I had made a vide tutorial on the HD format..lol). Its a 720p now in FLV but in my opinion just barely. I honestly jsut wish they would do something about the SD WS mode on each video before you watch it in "HD" mode. My SD converted to 720p still looks pretty good on the new format.

Wow, Mark Apsolon, great to see you here, these are excellent forums, full of great characters and advice, sort of like a video circus, I would be classed as a clown act here.

I am having a good break away from noobtube, it has certainly burned me out of late, I did watch the winner of your last competition, great idea to have the viwers vote, I bet it had you pulling your hair out sorting out the coments.

Watch out for the tubinator (bot youtube program) friend invites, this has me now leaving any friend invite ignored unless I really know who they are. I may touch on this in the off topic area, it is part of the reason why youtube is going to the dogs.

On youtube quality and the ever changing goal posts it seems to have left videos which
are played in low quality looking like a crap, one thing I know is not all the world has stunning internet connections, where I live anyone outside a laege city is basically stuffed, some plenty of users still have only dial up or wireless connections which are one step up.

Considering I live in a so called 'lucky country' internet connections are well behind the US standard, there are two big issues here, tiny population V huge land area, most of which is bone dry desert, and its a reminder that many countries have pretty poor internet connections, so at the moment making these huge HD uploads require large swabs of time for some to download to watch, in saying that you may be excluding some potential audience, then again from what I see over 50% of my viewing audience is from the US where this is a much smaller issue, but its something to keep in mind I believe.

Thanks for your assistance of late.

Hey,

I just started posting on several forums online. Its great to see someone I know off youtube.. I posted a work in progress for another tips and tricks video about barn doors for a work light in another section of the board. I am asking if anyone has any ideas to improve on one of the designs I drafted together. Did you see the latest contest I'm doing?

I guess I could post the video I did on the HD WS format on youtube in the post too. Youtube changed it about four days after I released this video..lol I'm working on an update
