Seriously!

Great work on the editing (for example, the first scene with the title and the skipping was very nicely done!) and the music (really liked the ambient stuff, at the beginning and at 1:45 or so). I liked most compositions as well. But I have to agree with The Guru on the auto-exposure, for your next project don't forget to sort that out, it wasn't that disturbing but, you know, it looks sort of more pro without it.

It's a bit unclear what is happening in the couple of shots before the girl is murdered. Also, the shoes at 0:46, it looks a bit out of place to me, could be just me though.

I liked the sound effects as well (screaming and all was very unsettling! ), although lots of the effects were dubbed (at least I think so), and maybe you should have used a bit of reverb or something for some of those sounds to make them blend in a bit better.

As said, I liked the compositions, but perhaps some scenes could do with a bit more saturation of the colours and, well - I don't know if it's your style - but you could also apply vignetting to some of the scenes to make it look a bit more dramatic, it's very personal for everybody though, so it's just a tip. The camerawork was excellent in general though! (really good when two victims are running at 2:33 for instance)

I hope this helps, and keep up the good work.

edit: forgot to include a link to a wiki article about vignetting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vignetting

Ok, exposure. I'll look into that now, thanks. I noticed what you're saying, it does pop in at times. I'm going to practice making it work manually I think.

Yes, there were a lot of dubbed moaning and screamings. I'm going to try and get the reverb on them to work better in future, thanks for pointing this out. I didn't really notice it so much, but it does make it that more believable if I can get it right. Thanks

Vignetting. Hmm, good idea. I've seen that done before, and was thinking of using it on here actually, but I didn't know it had a name! I agree that it could work here, and I'll probably use it for my next film.

Great stuff. Thanks

I thought that was very, very good. I'll stick my neck out and say that I thought the acting was appaling, no one getting there arm hacked off would still be able to grip onto a tree and when people are realy in danger of loosing there lives they, well, fight, kick and scream. That been said I think you got away with it by good use of camera, editing and sound. But in a sense that does not matter, it's way better than most people (myself included) would ever achieve. I don't think that every piece of film needs a 'reason' and this worked well without back ground. Although gore looses it's fascination in adult hood you did manage the hack sawing well and the melon was good

Ok, acting. Yes. Definately need to work on that. I myself am not a great actor, and I'm definately trying to stay offcamera alot more now.
I like the idea of kicking and screaming. That's a good point. Why we didn't do this much I'm not sure. Something to work on there too. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks again, yeah, I'm not the usual for lots of blood. So, I don't know maybe I will or maybe I won't continue a bloody genre of film in future.

the saw scene actually made me grit my teeth, the sounds.....ew

altogether i really liked it, but a tiny bit too gory for my taste, could have done with a tiny bit more suspense, however the time frame was short. .i liked the colours used too.

really good overall . keep up the good work. also i liked the soundtrack, the music...did you make it yourself?

Nauseating, disturbing, gore-drenched yuk!

Very well done!

Not my cup of tea at all, if I'm perfectly honest, but I have to say it was very slickly done. I agree about the acting, but I agree I could not hope to achieve anything this good.

Gonna have nightmares now :(

lol. Hope you don't, MarkOneMusic! (did you?)...

ZiggyStardust: Tension. Hmm. I know the bit just after the headsmash, and the boy is trying to get off the hand-binds, that probably should have cut back to the threat a bit more, so you feel the tension with him. How else coud I make it more tense? My next film needs loads of tension, so it would be great to learn here.

MarkOneMusic: I think anyone can do this, it just takes a bit of time and experience. Give it as much time as you think it needs. a Deadline is great, but use the time as much as you can before it. My computer... argh... Pinnacle... tried to render the hanging scene at the end. No sleep for me that night...
