Default The user video section

The user video part of VideoForums is a fairly popular aspect of the site. That's great news - it shows people are getting out there and sharing their work. However, there's recently been a proliferation of members joining to post a link to their 'YouTube' channel, or posting 'fan videos' / vide game movies.

Now I have no problems with any of these, but the ethos for this site has always been to the production of original films by aspiring film makers. So to this end, I will be creating two seperate subsections within the user video gallery: one for 'fan videos' (taking non-original content and creating something new), and one for video game movies.

Further, we will be going back to the ethos of one video per post within the user videos section. If a post contains more than one video (or doesn't contain a direct link to a video), then the post will be deleted, edited, or moved to Pimp the Link.

Any comments welcomed.

Very sensible move, Marc. And generous of you to encompass material outside the original ethos.

I too have no problem with people wanting to show off their fan videos or video game vids but they don't appeal to me and I'm sure there are others who are only interested in one or other of those genres.

More importantly it'll make it clearer to those who are passing judgment exactly what they are expected to pass comment on. This has been somewhat confusing in some recent threads.

Let's hope people learn and stick to it so you and the other mods aren't forever having to move posts from forum to forum.
