Excellent footage, I can see why it got so many hits, a plane-spotters delight.

Last summer I filmed some of the "official" music video for the 380. It really is an ugly plane! The lines of the wing are cool but just about everything else looks "chubby". The power kicked out from those engines is awsome, even whilst taxiing, it blew our lights (which take three men to lift) across the apron like tumbleweed!

Nice shots Yeebsy!

Thanks

Nice gig for you, did you film it at Toulouse? I'm no spotter but I have a professional interest of course and would love to look round the factory. The aircraft does look chubby but remember this is the 'short' version. The next generation will be longer and more in proportion.

Sort of, we filmed it at Tolouse and Frankfurt. Also had a day trip to New York (but came back on a 340 without even stepping out of the terminal!) Planned are shoots in Dubai and Singapore although the budget is so over-plan that they'll probably use local crew for those.
Even if you stretch it, it'll never be a slender aircraft, mind you one of the girl singers is also "traditionally built", so she and the 380, sort of, matched!

As for the music! It has got to be the worst song ever written, when it comes out (the song's out, the video still "in production") you'll cringe! It sounds like something written in the 1930's or by Barbera Cartland, which just goes to show that the Frenchies really have absolutely no taste, despite what they claim.

Don't be! I've learnt not to believe producers who promise exotic locations until I'm actually checking into the hotel and the cheque's been cleared! Like I said, I have a feeling that, from now on, it'll be local crew. I notice that in the last e-mail they're still looking for...

"For the next stage of shooting, 800 international actors are wanted. 4 pilots, 4 copilots, 15 flight attendences (female), 10 flight attendences (male), all in uniforms. Still not enough: furtheron 30 African actors as musicians (15 male and 15 female) in their own african clothing/costumes with drums, 60 Arabian actors in original clothing (30 male, 30 female), 16 male Indians in original clothes, 30 female Indians in sari, 10 bagpipe-players with kilts, 20 female and 20 male flamenco dancers with special clothing, 8 flamenco guitar players, 50 typical bavarian actors, 50 persons from northern Germany in special clothes, 50 French with berets and waistcoats, 16 actors for Queen Elizabeth’s guard, 60 female and 35 male Chinese in country-typical clothing, 30 geishas and 20 male Japanese, all with kimono, 40 Australian with boomerang and didgeridoo, 30 Indonesian temple dancers with costumes, 50 cowboys & cowgirls, 40 belly-dancers. Also doubles of Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Marcello Mastroianni, Sophia Loren. And a revue-dance group and a latino-dance group….."

... and a partridge in a pair tree!

I'll try and find a link to the music.
