Think putting up a satellite dish is easy? Not when it measures 13 meters across, weights 20 tons, and must be mounted on top of a two story tall kingpole. And the work had to be done in strong winds. Not exactly a home DIY project!

Profesionally shot and edited but.... not exactly thrilling.
As a video running on a stand at a trade show, it's okay but for the viewer it get boring. I personally would add a voice-over giving information about where it is, what the dish is for, how much it weighs & costs, the difficulties which they overcame, and so on.

And you think it would be more thrilling with narration? Naw! It would bore you to death - smile.
Thanks for the feedback.

Perhaps I didn't phrase myself too well. Technically it's very good.
It just lacks something to hold the interest. Four minutes of some sort of construction on some sort of satellite dish isn't visually captivating enough on its own. A commentary would give the viewer additional information. If we knew why the dish was being built and what it was going to do, we would have a reason to want it to succeed, for example.

No, I understood exactly what you meant and you are prefectly correct. A narration would make it more interesting for folks like yourself, otherwise it probably is boring, unless you are an engineer. Your critique is quite valid.
My sarcastic retort was to the actual extent of what could be safely (and truthfully) said about this particular event. It would be boring to the average person. The people actually involved in the project, and who know the particulars behind it, do not require such narration, and that is why there is none.
But I certainly appreciate the validation on the technical quality.

On a gut level, I did not like them either on the dish lifting. But, I could not think of a better time compression effect for that particular series of shots. Any recommendations?

I replaced the clockwipes (except for the hammering), as suggested. You were right. That did make a small improvement. Thanks Replay |

Thing is... I'm an engineering geek, and I just enjoyed it.
I assume it's an uplink!
