Hi Guru,
Thank you for taking the time to review my work. It is very much appreciated but I would suggest that you have some less bombastic examples on your website as well. |
i was thinking this very thing myself and am rectifiying this as I type here!
I am not sure how many potential clients will understand this clip. I am sure it could put as many off as those who like it!
I am wondering if it is more suited for a competition entry rather than pulling in the next client? any advice appreciated.
Kind regards.
GDR

How to win a competition in three easy steps.
1. Read the rules
2. Obey the rules
3. Give the judges what they want.
It would win a competition if the competition was called "3 min scarey wedding video" otherwise you'll have difficulty finding somewhere to place it. I think it does really well as an "attention grabber" but the music does add an element of disquiet which isn't to everyone's taste.

This is the sort of clip that does win competitions John. It's never the best filming or editing that wins (that's my excuse anyway ) but the impact of this edit is bound to make em sit up and take notice.
Winners just need to be different - still good film and editing, but look at all the video winners over the years and it's 'the difference' that gets the award.
As you have already said, this clip may put more brides off than attract them - But the award for 'winner' will pull the rest in - Go for it!

j)ng2x - it may be better to post your videos on a seperate thread - people are far more likely to give you feedabck and it keeps the board nice and tidy.
