Default Video Editing Forums work!

Just a quick update...

Thanks to this forum and lots of other web activity I have lots of good news to report. I originally posted this request for feedback on my Meet Steve trailer ( www.ianhawkins.co.uk/meetsteve/trailers.htm ), then Marc Peters offered to host the complete 11-minute film ( http://ianhawkins.digital-director.com ). Over the last couple of months I've had hundreds of people from all over the world (no kidding!) checking out the trailers and website www.ianhawkins.co.uk/meetsteve and emailing feedback.

In the autumn, Meet Steve will even be getting its first public screening in a small community cinema in Los Angeles ( www.echoparkfilmcenter.org ) and I have been invited to help LA filmmaker Michael W. Dean with his new film. In the next couple of days I'll be conducting some interviews in London for a documentary about the author of Last Exit to Brooklyn, Hubert Selby Jr. I don't get paid, but I'll get a credit as a cameraman. Check out www.cubbymovie.com.

So there you have it. I'm not trying to build a new career but it's amazing how a little forum message can lead to other things. Huge thanks to everyone who has had a look, replied or checked out the website.

Wow, sounds like you've been busy - and more importantly, having fun! Where about's in London you gonna film? I must be on so many people's video tapes and pictures through rudely running through their shots along the Thames walkway and across the millenium bridge.

I'll be filming in Waterloo and Chelsea/Kensington. I'm interviewing the people who first published the UK edition of Last Exit to Brooklyn.

They're both interesting fellas, I'm just hoping everything works out okay and I get something interesting enough to go in the final film.

Default Good Work

Your story is a bit of an inspiration I must admit. Well done and keep us posted of your progress on this project.

I enjoyed the video immensely - the editing was very well done, I took a few pointers, I like how you didn't miss the mundane little details around the house like filming a few seconds of the mouse and cat clock - and contrasting the shots of the nearby streets with very little activity to the rather active Steve. This helped me both not tire of Steve and realize his quirkiness anew after a few seconds mental break from the street

Of course the fact that Steve's music is as entertaining as he is couldn't have hurt!

Good luck with the premiere!
