Okay, here's my suggestion...

The plot:

A radio DJ discovers that he's dying. He only has a few months to live. For years he's been playing music to an invisible audience and realises that he has no idea how his music has affected others. He asks his listeners (worldwide, this is a web-based station) to let him know what music has affected them, and how...

So guys, you have to pick a song/tune/melody and make a video with the music as the theme.

At the end (if there's enough response) I'll shoot the beginnning, and you supply the "music vids"...

Thanks for the compliment near start of the thread, (if it was aimed at me).

I like the idea of a competition where you have to only use clips supplied. It would be a very pure editing challenge.

I think any sort of cooperative video is a non starter really - too many ways for things to go wrong, too complicated. I have been writing a short script for my first ambitious 10 minute drama and I have been going at it for a year now and am on about the sixth rewrite - I get feedback from people but the thought of others wading in and writing some of it, well, maybe I am a control freak but I couldnt stand it...

I was thinking of something less 'drama' and more 'pop vid', 'experimental' where the editing will give a very different interpretation to any supplied clips, it would be an interesting challenge.
