Default The Joys of Using Animal Actors

Last week we made the first attempt of filming a scene where the family dog appears as a canine "Prince" in costume. All the dog had to do was sit in a doorway and look handsome. It did NOT go well! - smile

Three minutes of out-takes: Never work with animals

Your closing scene says it all. Funny to look at, but really, it is the animals that have sense – we are the potty ones. It’s a fact.

I wish that had had a sound track. Very amusing.

Huh??? It had voices and music. Perhaps I should have added a voice for the dog making silly comments in his mind - smile. Like, "You're gonna pay for this in the morning...I'm gonna mark your slippers."

Good News!
Saturday night we were able to get the dog to pose and got some great footage. I'll be editing it later this week. All it took was a change of location (from the door to the fixed set and no smoke) AND rewarding him with generous chunks of liver sausage (his favorite) between poses.

Of course, the change in set location for the posing required us to reblock the scenes before and after, to maintain continuity. That was no problem. In fact, the reshot scenes were far superior to what we already had in the can.

Now, a higher priority: Oktober Fest!!! I will get back to editing tomorrow after today's beer drinking and the anticipated hangover in the morning - smile.
