So here's my story and I'm sticking to it. I have in my possession 2 DVDs which were created from 30yr old television recording tapes (B&W). It's a HS musical done back in 1976 called the Sound of Music which holds my 3-4minutes of fame as Rolf.

I've played them on my PC and my DVD and the audio quality is good. The video quality ranges from OK to fair depending on the waves or lines (not much), the contrast, and the sharpness (the camera was stationary while running at a distance from the stage).

Here's what I want to do. I want to add titles, cast info, increase sharpness, and brighten it up a bit. Basically I want to improve it as much as possible without high cost or hundreds of hours of my time. If you can give me a Step 1 do this, Step 2 do this, Step 3....etc approach I would appreciate it. Please recommend any easy to use software. I'm PC savvy so use any tech language you want.
