Default Mono phono to DVD Player with Stereo Phono

    Hi,

I have an old analogue camcorder with a single mono rca phono out lead. I want to back my tapes up directly to my standalone DVD writer.

The problem I have is... the DVD writer has stereo inputs... if I plug the single rca into the left channel all audio playback on the backed up DVD is on that channel only.

What I need is audio in both channel - anyone know where I can source an adaptor which will split a single lead so that I can plug it into both left and right phono sockets on my DVD player so that sound comes from both channels (albeit mono still).

Any good local TV/Video store should stock what you are looking for, you need one phono socket on one end and two phono sockets on the other end so the mono audio from your camcorder is sent to both the left and right channels of your DVD recorder. You could also try Keene Electronics.
