    Default Ntsc/pal

    Silly Question!!!!
Being new to Adobie prem.elements2 I did a practice burn to DVD in NTSC format as I'm sending a copy to Kansas USA-- Burn went ok and out of curiosity I tried it in my PAL format standalone DVD player -- It played perfect. How can I tell If it will play in USA and is there any way I can tell If the disc is truly NTSC format. Film was shot on my Canon XM2 cam.

The burn settings will have changed from 720x576 to 720x480 and the frame rate will have gone up from 25fps to 30fps. All new PAL DVD players should have no problem playing NTSC discs, I don't know what the story is about SECAM (it seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth) just out of curiosity did you notice any black bars at the top and bottom of your TV screen?

Hi Nikosony--No black bars showing on TV screen-- How can I check if the disc is in NTSC format? -- The disc that I burned was 3mins. long as I was only practicing on PE2 --- The final disc is bound for USA and I dont want to spend all those hours rendering it and finding out it wont work!

Apart from checking the settings in your software after you click on the NTSC button, I can't think of any other way. I forgot to include the 525 lines that NTSC uses as opposed to 625 lines that PAL uses, well it's more like 600 or 610 as the rest are used for things like Ceefax, the audio track and picture information.
