Thread: Video wall effect

    Default Video wall effect

Wish I knew we had a Vegas section on a UK forum before now.

I'm just getting to grips with Vegas - really like it - only scratched the surface up to now I think.

I want to produce a video wall of up to 16 thumbnail tracks. I guess the best way to do this is to create 16 PIP effects all reduced to the same size and positioned in different locations. But...is there a way of automating this - a script or plug in - so that if I want to change the size slightly, etc I don't have to change every single track. Maybe a plug in that lets you specify what tracks to use, number of tracks per row, distance between pictures, etc.

Or is this just wishful thinking!!??

    Thanx

I'm pretty sure that the Vasst site has some free scripts to perform this task

Yeah - VASST was my first port of call - they have a picture wall effect but thats just for still images. I'll have another look there.

I did that kind of effect in my showreel, about 24 pips. Just did it on individual tracks the long way. Takes a bit of time to do stuff the long way but I usually prefer it as it gives much more creative control.
