Default Cutting Down .mov file size...

    Hey Guys,

    I'm using Sony Vegas 5.0

Anyway when I try to render as a .mov I ahve either a really big file size for something really short (like 20mb for a 15 second clip) or I have very poor quality. I have seen videos such as this one http://www.lucentproductions.com/FullCircle.mov that don't have a crazy file size and the quality is great! At almost 7 minutes the total file size is only 14.7 mb... Can anyone give me a list of the settings I should render it as and what to do etc?

    Thanks!!!

I find .movs to be of lower quality than .wmvs. I think I read on this forum that movie houses use all sorts of tricks to optimise their stuff.

Buy Quicktime pro and you will find the encoding options for quicktime will have expanded. With MOV's its a case of tweaking and trying diffrent bitrates and codecs to achive the best result. If you know how to use it well quicktime is the best encoding tool to use - it's just a pain in the arse to learn properly.
