Question Help needed for new member.

I have a JVC GRD50EK Digital Video Camera and I'm hoping to download to my PC and after maybe some "minor" editng burn the finished footage to DVD.
My video camera(which I've had about 18 months) only came with a USB cable. Is it better if I bought a Firewire cable?
I have Windows Movie Maker 2 on my PC is this OK , taking into account that I'll only be doing a limited amount of editing?
I also have Nero 6.6.1.4 on the PC , is this ok for DVD burning?

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Dave

Hi. You definitely need a Firewire cable to capture digital video in its best quality. As for WMM and Nero, sure, they're ok. You'll probably move on to something more professional in time, but don't worry about software just now.

Well Firewire cables only come in 2 versions: 4-to-6 pins and 6-to-6 pins. I'm guessing yours is 4-6 but check it out, you can't go wrong with this one.
