Thread: ATA or SATA?

  1. Default ATA or SATA?

I want to get a second drive to store all my video clips and as I am looking around I am coming accross SATA drives. I have researched SATA a bit but am still confused. Should I buy a SATA drive?

The drive I got with the computer is a 200GB ATA.

And what is the best way to confgure\setup? ie)RAID, JBOD, etc
    much easier with a computer

    Default

definitely buy a SATA drive provided your motherboard supports it. They offer higher data transfer rates as far as I know and raiding can be useful although I dont know too much about it. I have 3 SATA disks in my machine and it definitely is the way forward.

Hope this helps in some way
