my friend offered me an extra stick of 256 megs of ram for a video game that i have, but i dont know if it would even be noticable, i have a gig already! would it be worth while?

Adding the 256mb will mean that your current ram will not perform to its best

For some reason it just does... thats why there is dual channel to over come this, also what game is it because games like CSS, BF2 and etc the engines that run them cant handle 2 non dual channel so it lags a bit.

well thats why dual channel was created, to work both sticks at the same time giving maximum performance...
