Thread: Fast & Easy Video Editing

Default Fast & Easy Video Editing

I bought a Dell Dimension 4600 with a DVD rom & DVD + RW with the intention of putting hours and hours of analogue (also bought ‘plug in’ an analogue capture device) and DV digital recordings onto DVD discs. The software which came with the PC is Dell Movie Studio & Sonic.

Capturing isn't a problem, rendering & burning such large files onto DVD seems an uphill struggle, the software does emphasis on 'SMALL' movie clips, but I basically have hours of the stuff!! I'm not interested in fancy editting, I just need something that's effective, quick & easy.

Would I be better of going for a DVD recorder with DV in, & would I be able to transfer my analogue recordings in this way?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

If you have absolutely no editing requirements and no requirement to build any DVD Menus and the like. Then yes, a DVD Recorder is a more simplistic way to go as it will record your analogue footage in real time. Most of the market leaders in this field support AV in (I assume you meant this for your analogue footage).

If you are not in the UK then I am sure a google search on DVD Recorders will yield some results.

Remember though that if you want to persist with your own editing and VD creation via your PC, then there are plenty of willing souls on this forum to offer advice.

    Good luck
