Thread: Need help buying quality VCR

Default Need help buying quality VCR

I need a VCR for around 250-300$ and wondered if anyone could recommend one. I need it solely for transferring videos, so recording quality is not important, only how well it can output I guess. Also, I need one that does not show the tracking on screen, since that gets captured too.

I appreciate the help in advance!

If you mean the fuzzy bit, that is always there on analogue video but gets hidden by the overscan of the tv screen, PCs show the whole picture right to edges.

I have a Panasonic SVHS superdrive, it is old but good, I get some analogue to digital conversion work ocasionally(I know not very glamorous) and it still gives me good results and covers me for PAL, NTSC and SVHS cassettes as well.

Are your videos in VHS or SVHS format?

    will be capturing both.

Also, by the tracking on screen I mean when it actually shows the bar on screen going back and forth while its tracking. I need it to do that "behind the scenes", so to speak, my current VCR does not.
