Thread: Beggining AE 4.0

  1. Default Beggining AE 4.0

    I picked up a copy of after effects 4.0 because it was free, and I want to enhance the work I do with Edius, which is excellent and friendly, but not as powerful as I'd like. I haven't a clue what to do with it though. After I get to a certain point I can play around with it and read tutorials on how to do specific things, and eventually I'll be able to warp the program to my needs, but I really don't know where to start. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    Obvious things that spring to mind to get you started in AE4...

    1) Google combinations of "After Effects tutorial" - this will keep you reading all day long;
    2) RTFM; and
    3) Go find a book or two on the subject and get reading and playing.

    The main problem you will find with 1 and 2 above though, is that v4 is 3 or 4 versions out of date now that v7 (remember, it went from 6 to 6.5) so documentation based on v4 specifically may be thin on the ground.

    How about this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...317260-0472728
    It looks cheap enough.
