    Default Editing Effects...

So, I have been using Vegas for only a few weeks now, and I am slowly getting the nack of things... but one question that I have is about video effects.

I was wondering if it is possible to have a split screen for the video. I want to have the screen split into 2 (50/50) or 4 or multiple screens with each screen playing a different video.

If it is possible, how would I go about doing this??

    Thanks

The easiest way is to put the vids on diffferent tracks and use Track Motion to put the image where ever you want on the screen, at whatever size. As a progression to that, you can then use keyframing to move them around the screen too, if you want.

Alright, I will try the Track Motion when I get home tonight, my question to that is this... Is there a transition for the effect...??? Example... if I have one video playing and I want to insert a second video clip and cause them both to go to 50%... is there a transition for this?? Like a push of some sort???

Turn Media -- thanks for the tip of track motion. It worked perfectly!!! Another question about transitioning -- is there a transition with "stars" in it???

50% what? Opacity or screen size?

I was thinking of 50% of the screen, same as split screen, but the track motion worked even better... I liked the ability to adjust the size of the frame and place it wherever I chose on the screen.

Seems like you've worked out a fair bit for yourself. Well done. Don't forget to show us the finished clip!

I am on dial up at home, but I will make a copy of the clip for show by the end of the week (when I get back to work).

So I looked around all the transitions and I was unable to find any that had stars in them... I guess I was wondering if there is a plug in that contains it or something of that nature.... but it isnt that big of a deal.

Thanks again for all the help...

I wouldnt worry too much about tarty transitions. They invariably make a film look cheap and poorly thought out.

Most people (me included) use lots of transitions at first but it is nearly always a mistake.
