Default What's your opinion on this feature in a camcorder?

    Folks,

I've found a camcorder that boasts it can record in slow motion. Obviously it must record faster for real time slow motion playback at normal speed.

It's the JVC GRD290 so I don't know if anyone has and any experience with it.

    Any thoughts?

I would guess it is dropping the res to get higher frame rate. Maybe interpolating each half laced frame to give 50 fps?

What fps does it record at?

Hmmm you're right it does seem a bit odd to not have an image stabiliser and a 25x zoom although I have seen camcorders with only 10x optical zoom.

I have no idea what the fps is but it would be a safe bet it's 25.

It may just be a case of suck it and see.

Anyone else happen to have used this camera?
