    Default Matrox drivers needed

Hi all....I'm new to this forum but not to PC's or video editing.

I live in Spain and have been offered by my nephew in the UK a used matrox x.10 capture card but alas no software or drivers. Anyone know where I could get them?? The card has come from a college where he works and they have updated the capture cards but seems they have thrown away all the old driver disks!!

I currently use a DV500 and would like to try out the Matrox.

Any help appreciated and any costs involved met.

    regards Gerry Moore

If you are the new owner of this hardware you can register with Matrox aftre which you can download the latest drivers and s/w for the cardfor free.

    Go to www.matrox.com

I hope it proves as simple as that. Registering with Matrox and performing the download are simple enough tasks. What might prove awkward is de-registering the card from the previous owner. I do not know what this process might be and you might want to phone Matrox to confirm.

Arrgghh...it's sounding more and more awkward!!

Trying to phone helplines from the UK is bad enough, but phoning from Spain could prove to be an expensive nightmare!

Also, I think the chances of de-registering this card from a 'college' pre-owner is basically zero.

If any kind owner of a Matrox X10 card is willing to copy the drivers for WinXPpro SP2 and send them to me here in Spain, I would be more than willing to re-emburse any costs involved and be very grateful too.

    thanks all

I only offered that as a passing thought. The s/w is completely useless to anyone without the hardware so you may not have a problem at all.

    It's worth a try.

And to sending the s/w. I tried doing the download for you but my RT.X100 regiostration does not allow me to download the Rt.X10 s/w.

I would at least attempt the registration process and see what happens. And/or send them some emails. The opne tinme I phoned Matrox (UK) they were certainly helpful enough.

Thanks for all your help Alan.

As soon as I get the card I'll do as you say and try the registration.

If that fails I may come back to you!

Just happened to read your post and here is a link to the Matrox RT.X10 Forum that may be of some help. I used to have a matrox card a long time ago and rememberd that they had forums. Hopefully someone on there could be of assistance and this is what you have coming. Wish you the best.

I'm not convinced you'll get the s/w from the forums. You need to register to access tothe download pages forthat. But the forums are frequented by Matrox support staff so you will be able to get a definitive answer to you problem.
