    Default Unknown compressor in QT

    Hi all,

    Total newbie here...

A friend has given me some footage in .mov format on CD, which he has imported using a DV camera, and exported from his Mac using NO compression (or so he says!).

I have tried opening this in my PC (win 2k) and QT reports that I do not have the required compressor.

I have tried opening in Windows Media Player to find the necessary codec, if there is one, but I get the error msg that its not found.

I have also tried using a piece of software called Gspot - still no joy.

I'm at my wits end as to what I can do! Are there PC/Mac compatibility issues for DV video?

    Advice greatly appreciated.

    Steve

I assume you've downloaded the latest version of Quick Time? Not sure that older versions are too hot at automatically updating to the required version...
