Default Graphics cards, Aspect HD, drives

Is it wise to attempt HDV-originated editing without Aspect HD?

I see that Cineform recommend Matrox Parhelia APVe but it does not appear on the Adobe site list; will it definitely work with PP2? The Matrox triple monitor card seems like a neat solution for simultaneous VDU and video monitoring; what's the common alternative for video monitoring of HDV?

Also, why are 128MB cards specified? I thought the more graphics memory the better, or is that just for gaming etc?

Any recommendations for good value UK system builders, or do you all roll your own?

From what I've read so far the answer is a resounding 'No' on this. The h/w required to edit HDV using the native HD facilities of PPro2 are quite prohibitive.

I am currently editting in PPRo1.5 with Cineform Aspect HD (v4) using a GEForce 6800 card but with only a single moinitor. Works fine!

My current system, built around the MatrioxRT.X100, was built by www.dvc.uk.com who are my personal vendor of choice.
