Default Newbie - Capturing video help please!

I have a Toshiba P20 17" WS notebook 1gig DDR ram, PIV 3.2 gig hyper threading with a iLink and S-video port and a Sony 330x analog video camera with RCA output only.

I also have lots of questions, here goes.

I presume the s-video port on my notebook is for sending to other monitors, projectors etc, not for input from another device?

Can I link my Sony analog camera to my iLink port with some sort of cable? (RCA to ilink does it exist?)

If not do I need to purchase a PCMCIA capture card for my notebook to take input from the analog camera?

Which way would you go about getting video from my analog camera to my notebook so I can edit it and burn to DVD?

What hardware or cables need to be purchased?

    Thanks

    Sean

You will need to convert your analogue signal to digital before connecting to the iLink.

For a laptop, take a look at the Canopus ADVC55 - RCA in one side, firewire (ilink) out the other - it doesn't even need a power supply - powered by the firewire!
