    Default help me buying a camera

    hey whats one of the best cameras our there for independent film making good lighting capture high def

    i wanna shoot night movies so yea i would really appreciate your help thanks

    Affraid thats a bit of a vauge discription. From what I have heard the sony's seem good. There is also a small JVC HD camera out. Have a look Here.

    I would argue that 'good lighting' is not the realm of the camera.

    Floods do just the job . If you want lighting then you would need to buy a mountable light for the camera (about 70)

    i need buying advice too... i found a list on this site explaining all the differant formats but i cant find it now...

    i was wondering whats the major differance between digital8 and miniDV.

    i've just bought a SONY DVD camera (DCR-DVD92E), thought it was a snatch at 349.50...

    put it this way... its going back!

    Digital 8 was a stop gap to DV proper. Same data recorded onto a hi 8 tape, but as others have said it's an old cruddy format and best avoided unless it's a really good s/h deal, like 50 quid.

    I think you are wise to take the dvd camera back and swap it for a DV model.

    iLink is Sony's name for Firewire aka IEEE1394.
