I have a Creative SB audigy, is that good enough to capture video? If that's not the case, could codecs make a difference? I have read that having alot of codecs on the computer can mess it up, any help would be appreciated

I assume you're capturing via firewire. What are the specs of your PC?

I forgot to add that, it has captured fine before, the last time i captured was in september. But lately it has been doing this problem, with the picture quality becoming grainy, vertical lines apearing.

ok i formatted my computer, problem still happens. the video is still noisy, even though i am capturing uncompressed avi, the video looks fine on my 51" sony hdtv. so what could be the problem. Could it be the fire wire cable i am using, maybe the camera is messed up. But I dont understand what the problem is because the last time i used it in september the picture quality was fine, and i am capturing the same footage that i took in september.
