Default Advice please: Rendering Projects with 2 Drives

If I have 2 drives, is it best to keep the project files on 1 drive, and then render the final movie file to a 2nd drive?

does anybody know if that's the best practice?

I have 7 drives and use them completely haphazardly and it always works fine. Avoid anythnig USB, it is clunky for me for editing. I use vegas.

I would agree with that as recommended practice. It's actually become my habit becaused the Matrox RT.X100 actually insists on it for real time export.

Also, I would recommend you have a seperate drive also for you operating system and s/w, i.e. your C drive.

I also would add the drives should be two or more physical drives, and not partitions on one drive. Best performance is when they are on different controller interfaces' master positions, not master/slave on one controller.
